Help Your Community: Shovel Snow

You may have noticed it's snowing outside, but did you know we're legally bound in Chicago to shovel our sidewalks?

Sure, the Mayor announced today that you won't be in any trouble if you don't follow the law, but plenty of folks are pointing out it's just the right thing to do.

The Active Transportation Alliance is trying to help Chicagoland residents make streets as pedestrian-friendly as possible this winter. With the help of our Transportation Options Intern, the Office of Sustainability is building a team of UIC community members who will help spread the word about snow removal on the streets.  Visit our site to learn more, or go straight to the signup page at http://go.uic.edu/snowremoval.
