Volunteer with Sierra Club Chicago!

The Chicago Group of the Sierra Club is actively seeking volunteers for the following positions. Enthusiastic newcomers welcome! Also view the Sierra Club 101 primer for new volunteers.

Pass the Word- Anyone can be a volunteer by downloading, printing and passing around the flyers linked below to help make Sierra Club known in your neighborhood or in events that you attend. Great Lakes Issues Montrose Beach Dunes Restoration Cleanups- The Chicago Group seeks volunteers who want to work on Great Lakes and Lake Michigan issues. Assistant Webmaster - The Chicago Group Webmaster is looking for an assistant to help convert articles, such as published in the quarterly Wild Onion, and special group announcements into Web page format. Requires basic Web page skills and FrontPage or similar graphical Web page editor. Also needed is programmer experience in ASP scripting for a special database project. Contact George Kollar at

ICO Volunteers - Inner City Outings of Chicago – a youth outreach program designed to acquaint inner-city youth with the great outdoors – is looking for motivated people to introduce young people to the outdoors. Outings Leaders– Help us to scout and run local trips – including hiking, biking, backpacking, canoeing, x-country skiing, etc. Begin immediately as an outing assistant leader, working with an experience leader, to learn what is involved.
