The Agroecology Summer Intensive, is a 9-week, hands-on, field and classroom training experience for individuals passionate about sustainable food and farming issues and involves immersion at the Merry Lea Sustainable Farm as well as field trips to area farms. Up to 12 academic credits may be earned, and a Certificate Program is available to those not seeking academic credit.
The second program, the Sustainability Semester in Residence, is a unique experience permitting student scholars to tackle real-life problems of sustainability at the regional and personal levels. 15 credits are earned through immersion in the Elkhart River Watershed and problem-based exploration of themes like regeneration, sustainable living, eco-justice and ecosystem thinking. We have several scholarships available for individuals interested in enrolling in our programs.
