CitiesAlive: Call for Student Presentations

The Academic Host Committee for the 10th Anniversary of the CitiesAlive Green Roof and Green Wall conference invites submissions of student research for the ‘Collegiate Café’ roundtable session as part of the conference’s Academic Village. The conference will be held at the Congress Hotel in Chicago from October 17th-20th and the roundtable session will be held on October 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm.

The roundtable event will feature 5-10 student research projects which will be presented in a café type setting, through verbal discussion, green roof materials or visual displays using tablets or laptops. The format is informal and discussion based to highlight research in progress, and there will be no formal multi-media presentation using projectors or large posters.

The Host Committee is seeking a diverse set of roundtable presentations from students in architecture and design, biological sciences, business, economics, engineering, environmental studies, geophysical sciences, public policy and other disciplines.

Please submit a one-paragraph abstract of research and proposed presentation format to Karen Midden at kmidden@siu.edu by August 1, 2012. Selected presenters will be notified by the Cities Alive 2012
Academic Committee by August 30, 2012.

Please note that all presenters must register for the conference. Student discounts and registration information is available at the CitiesAlive conference website (http://www.citiesalive.org/).

For additional information, please contact the Academic Host Committee Chairs: bgifford@uchicago.edu or sabina@uchicago.edu.
